Presentation Day and Hackday in Altona

This is the time of Presentation Days! The day during which pilot cities can showcase the work done, the steps and results of their efforts and collaboration with their citizens. In Altona the event was combined with the Hackday.

On 14 August, our local team met its Mobility Community at the Louise-Schroeder public elementary school in Altona. The citizens were first informed about the progress and the outcomes of the pilots as well as about the evaluation of the implemented pilots, i.e. the SharingDay and the new bike racks, and could provide their feedback based on their personal experience. The event was also the opportunity to inform on the status of related projects, more specifically why the Micro Depots pilot could not be realised and the progress of the spin-off project Car-free Ottensen.

The presentation of the pilot implementation actions and results fed into the subsequent discussion and co-development of scale-up ideas for the pilots in the Hackday  phase. As a matter of fact, the public was given the chance to work directly on the development of the scale-up solutions for the two implemented pilots. In the time frame needed by a match to burn down, participants had the chance to express their argument in favour of their favourite pilot.

The event allowed a breadth of ideas for scale up for the two pilots that will be presented in the YourPriorities tool, the results of which will inform the Quadruple Helix Stakeholder (QHS). The final concepts will be further honed and tested in the prototyping workshop. Overall, people left with greater awareness of the project and we ended up having a better understanding of the locals’ perception of the pilots and valuable ideas for improvement and expansion.
