Ready to take stock of the mobility interventions

You may wonder what has happened to our pilots. While some of them are still ongoing, BartOn the Move has come a long way: mobility interventions co-created with the community in the Barton neighbourhood were kicked-off at the Pass It On event at the Barton Neighbourhood Centre. As you may recall, these interventions are designed to increase access to shared transport, including Oxford’s PickMeUp DRT service, by providing smartphone app training, information about the County’s Concessionary Bus Pass scheme, and a transport service to affordable supermarkets. In conjunction, these pilots are helping Barton’s residents get to previously hard to reach destinations by using innovative shared transport solutions at little to no cost. After a couple of intense months of registrations, training and trips from and to Barton, all interventions have now been completed and data is being collected to properly assess them and inform a scale-up workshop. The plan is to put good practices and useful, sustainable mobility services to use in other neighbourhoods in Oxfordshire which face challenges similar to Barton’s ones.
