More green areas and community spaces for Budapest: ideas from the co-creation workshop

After three warm-up events held in July, August and September, last 14th December, our Budapest team organised and implemented a co-creation workshop with local stakeholders.  Some of these stakeholders had been made familiar with the project during previous events and became part of the Citizen Mobility Community.

This workshop’s aim was to identify those challenges that the community perceives as the most urgent and to explore possible intervention areas where the solutions co-created in the frame of the project may be implemented.

Therefore, the day was structured with teamwork exercises to help participants engage and be creative. Participants discussed in small groups about challenges along the upper Danube river embankment on the Buda side of the cities and focused on the following issues:

    • accessibility of the river
    • green areas
    • transport and mobility functions
    • community spaces.

The suggestions of ways to tackle these mobility challenges that were collected during the second part of the day will be further elaborated in the summer 2018, after the launch of the Mobility Lab, during a Presentation Day and an Hackday, leading to concrete, feasible and sustainable solutions. If you are as curious as we are to find out what will happen, make sure to check the Citizen Mobility Lab pages in the next months!
