Almost as a celebration for Cities-4-People first birthday, between March and May we had five different events which inaugurated the Citizen Mobility Labs in our five pilot areas: Hamburg-Altona, Oxford-Barton, Trikala, Istanbul-Uskudar, and Budapest.
The five Citizen Mobility Labs are inspired to the successful paradigm of the Amsterdam Smart Citizens Lab: they are inclusive, accessible, welcoming and provide the open (physical) space where interested community members come together with mobility experts, policy makers and other urban mobility stakeholders in order to discuss new ideas, initiate new projects for their neighbourhoods or districts, and share outcomes in the forms of blueprints, codes, best practices and the like. Yet, they are all very different: one is in a Neighbourhood Centre, one is a pop-up Lab with exciting events such as mobility slams, one is a cosy space with plenty of support technology and material, one is a bus doing roadshows and one is set up back to back with the city info point and the bike rental service.
