Sustainable and active mobility was the leading concept of the interventions piloted in Budapest. During the first round of pilots that was concluded over the summer, Budapest fostered shared sustainable mobility through a Mobility Point, experimented with improving mobility along the Danube and introduced a walking path to explore the city in a fun way. September was the time for the team to present to its Mobility Community the outcomes and impact of the solutions co-created with them.

The Budapest Presentation Day was held on 17 September at the Municipality of the City of Budapest. The team in Budapest decided to combine the Presentation Day with the Hack Day.

The Presentation Day was kicked off with a welcome speech by the Municipality of the City of Budapest. The event then started with a presentation to showcase the monitoring results from the first piloting period for the three different interventions. During the discussion, our team had a chance to collect insights from the participants. During a co-creation brainstorming session citizens were asked about their experience with one of the pilot interventions specifically, the Mobility Point.

Participants were broken into 3 groups and challenged to answer 3 questions on post-it notes:

    1. What went well during the Mobility Point pilot?
    2. What was challenging with the Mobility Point pilot?
    3. What should be left out in the scaled-up pilot?

The post-it notes were placed on a flipchart to feed into the discussion. To conclude, participants assisted to a presentation about the first Mobility Point in Vienna and the relative experience of the city with the intervention.

The Presentation Day was a success. Thanks to the co-creative exercise, our team was able to identify the positive and negative aspects of the interventions and what should not be included in the scale up phase of a Mobility Point. The fruitful insights will inform all the next activities in Budapest to best prepare for the pilot scale-up in 2020.
