Cities-4-People is one year old! Since our last newsletter several things have changed. Or, to put it differently, progress has been done. In particular, after the warm-up events that took place in 2017 to gather the core members of the Citizen Mobility Community, our pilot area partners have been mobilising the Communities and worked with them to first identify possible intervention areas and the major challenges that had to be tackled locally. We wanted to understand where the project could contribute to improve the situation, what the existing needs are and what the starting point – the current status – is. Therefore, we had first a series of co-creation workshops, in which specific exercises where used to stimulate creativity and enliven the discussion. We followed up with a consultation workshop in each area: these events were aimed at defining the structure, vision and strategy of the Citizen Mobility Community and lead towards the Citizen Mobility Lab. The set-up of the latter took long: we had to find the right locations, gather furniture and materials, get the necessary permissions, take care of the programming with speakers, moderators and supporting staff, so suddenly, it was March. But we made it and before the end of the year the Labs opened their doors! Use this as your starting point and read more about each pilot area.
