Friday, 29 June 2018, Trikala will host the Hackday, a half-day event to assess the mobility ideas collected so far, rank them and focus on the 10 most promising ones.
The ideas gathered by the local team focus primarily on improving the current traffic situation in the central square of Trikala: creating new parking places, increasing the number of streets for pedestrians, limit the size of the taxi station to decrease congestion and relocating the bus station that currently takes up much space in the square to another, more suitable area are just some of them. The suggestions are many and we need to narrow them down to be able to implement some of them.
Ranking and narrowing them down to 10 will be the job of the expected 20 attendees, who will work in 4-5 smaller groups. The groups will be created following a warm-up activity. No worries, we’ll keep the details and we won’t spoil the fun of it.
After the warm-up, participants will be asked to vote for the ideas they consider the best and/or the most urgent. Those with the highest score will be elaborated in greater detail, starting to move from ideas to concepts.
The event will end with the “One word before leaving” check-out activity, which will serve to assess the day and collect feedback on the process.
The event is planned for the afternoon: this way, even those who work can attend and make their voices heard. The location is beautiful: it is the old Matsopoulos Mill – not to be missed! It is a famous local attraction that hosts the Christmas market every year as well as a cinema and café.
Despite the wintery weather we are having this summer in Trikala, we will try and host the event outside. If the climate doesn’t allow such a daring move, we will use the inner facilities of the Mill.
