Hack Day in Budapest – round 2

In Budapest, the Hack Day was combined with the Presentation Day and was held on 17 September at the Municipality of the City of Budapest.

Following the Presentation Day in which the Mobility Community was informed of the results of the pilot implementation, the goal of the Hack Day was to collect ideas for locations and mobility services in order to scale up the Mobility Point pilot. The Mobility Point was selected for the scale-up with a questionnaire on mobility issues conducted by BKK, where locals and key stakeholders expressed their preference.

The Hack Day World Café session employed printed maps of Budapest with highlighted cycling routes and public transport lines. Participants were broken up into 4 groups to discuss the scale-up possibilities and were invited to add post-it notes with their ideas for scaling-up on different locations on the map. Three main questions had been formulated to facilitate the discussion:

1. What types of urban area do you suggest for creating mobility points? (e.g. housing estates, downtown areas, train stations)?
2. What mobility services should be associated with this type of urban area?
3. What are suggested locations for scaling up the Mobility Point in Budapest?

The location and mobility service concepts were then printed on co-creation voting boards and posted on the Your Priorities e-participation tool to be presented during the QHS workshop during the European Mobility Week’s Car Free Weekend 21-22 September.
