Raising awareness about public transport services

By Cities4people | Labs, Mobility Lab, OCC Lab | Comments are Closed | 1 July, 2019 | 0

Barton was the fastest pilot area in completing all interventions: thanks to an excellent organisation of the team and the valuable support of the Citizen Mobility Community, the first piloting phase was closed by mid-June and data analysis started immediately after. The results will be disclosed during a Presentation Day, and discussed in view ofRead more

Cities-4-People on the trail of BartOn the Move

By Cities4people | Article, Event, Mobility Lab, News, Past Event | Comments are Closed | 28 June, 2019 | 0

At the end of June 2019 it was time for our consortium to meet again. After having visited Amsterdam, Budapest, Hamburg and Trikala, our next gathering took place in Oxford. A picturesque city from the 12th century, house to Shakespeare and Lewis Carroll (among others) and renowned for its highly selective university, Oxford hosted Cities-4-PeopleRead more

Bringing citizens closer to the Danube

By Cities4people | Budapest Lab, Labs, Mobility Lab | Comments are Closed | 27 June, 2019 | 0

Piloting in Budapest has focused on bringing citizens closer to the Danube. The first intervention regarded the creation of a Mobility Point at St. Gellért, a busy transport hub along the Danube river bank on the Buda side. Five mobility providers joined the initiative and e-cars, scooters and bikes are now at disposal for allRead more

Promoting shared and sustainable mobility

By Cities4people | Hamburg-Altona Lab, Labs | Comments are Closed | 26 June, 2019 | 0

The Cities-4-People team in the District of Altona worked hard to promote sustainable mobility with the help of the local Citizen Mobility Community. First of all, a sharing mobility event was organised and held at the Altonale festival. Thanks to Cities-4-People, the Altonale included mobility as a domain for the first time. In one singleRead more

Taking care of vulnerable groups through mobility

By Cities4people | Labs, Mobility Lab, Uskudar Lab | Comments are Closed | 25 June, 2019 | 0

Istanbul is not an easy city to live in: its size and the humongous number of inhabitants make mobility complicated, especially for vulnerable groups, such as elderly, children and people with impairments (e.g. visually impaired people, people on a wheelchair). The Citizen Mobility community in Üsküdar focused on these categories to provide some infrastructural support.Read more

From prototypes to pilots

By Cities4people | Article, Labs, Mobility Lab, News | Comments are Closed | 24 June, 2019 | 0

After the completion of the prototyping phase, the piloting began. Implementing a pilot may sound easier than it actually is: it does not only entail actions to test the prototype in a real-life setting, but also implies substantial community engagement work to gather enough users and requires extensive data collection to measure the effects ofRead more

Taking stock of what we have

By Cities4people | Article, Labs, Mobility Lab, News | Comments are Closed | 17 June, 2019 | 0

Another six months have gone by and several changes have happened, which we are excited about and look forward to sharing with you. In our last newsletter, we had to stop at the ideation stage: all five Cities-4-People pilot areas had developed three concepts each, but nothing practical had been done with them yet. OneRead more

Mobility point pilot at St. Gellért Square

By Cities4people | Budapest Lab, Labs, News, Past Event | Comments are Closed | 13 June, 2019 | 0

Our three interventions in Budapest included the setup of a Mobility point at St. Gellért Square, at the exit of the Metro Line 4. St. Gellért Square is a busy public transport hub along the Danube river bank on the Buda side. The Mobility point was installed to help achieve urban micro-mobility objectives.  More precisely, itRead more

Ready to take stock of the mobility interventions

By Cities4people | Labs, Mobility Lab, News, OCC Lab | Comments are Closed | 6 June, 2019 | 0

You may wonder what has happened to our pilots. While some of them are still ongoing, BartOn the Move has come a long way: mobility interventions co-created with the community in the Barton neighbourhood were kicked-off at the Pass It On event at the Barton Neighbourhood Centre. As you may recall, these interventions are designedRead more

Sharing co-creation strategies at Interpart

By Cities4people | Event, News, Past Event | Comments are Closed | 12 April, 2019 | 0

We have mentioned it over and over again: in the past year and a half, project partners in Cities-4-People have taken a co-creative approach to tackling local mobility issues. This approach is open ended – it involves first gathering a community, then facilitating the process as community members identify problems in their local area, decideRead more
